SUCCESSFUL TESTING PUTS JUDD TEAM BACK ON TRACK

December 29, 2001 Kwinana Motorplex, Perth Western Australia.

After suffering with "fuel system gremlins" Robin Judd's '53 Studebaker is back on track to winning back the title of being Australia's quickest Top Doorslammer and being a major threat in the 2001/2002 Australian Top Doorslammer Championship.

The team put in four runs with a best time of 6.62 @ 210mph. Judd said " We are pleased we've got back on top of our combination. We can go forward now and slowly step it up to run quick again. While the problems have been frustrating we have learned an enormous amount."

Until recently, Judd held the crown as the nations quickest with a 6.17 elapsed time recorded at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway in June 2000. This time was also an equal world record, shared with American Fred Hahn. Earlier this month Victorian Fruit and Vegetable merchant Peter Kapiris ran a world record 6.07 setting a new benchmark yet again.

While Judd, Kapiris and the other Aussie Doorslammer drivers have their sites on the Championship, they are all trying desperately to be the first Doorslammer to run in the fives. Online magazine has written a comprehensive article on this very topic. It can be found at: www.competitionplus.com/race_to_5s.html

Round 2 of the ATDC is at Willowbank Raceway on January 17 - 19 as part of the 2002 Australian National Championships.

Stay tuned for a big season...
