Judd runs 6.40 in AA/AP Ravenswood International Raceway, Perth 30 October 1999

Robin Judd's '53 Studebaker achieved a number of milestones at the first National Meeting in Perth on the weekend.

Top Qualified in the Top Competition Eliminator bracket with a 6.401 @ 213.27 mph ( 1.10 secs under personal index) Won the competition with a loose 6.74 @ 213 mph over the very quick AA/GAS Torana of Grant and Debbie O'Rourke Set a new track record in AA/AP Ran the second quickest pass of any Doorslammer in Perth, behind US Champion Scotty Cannon Ran 2/10's under Brooks National Record of 6.60 in AA/AP Moved up 2 or 3 places from number 19 in the world's all time quickest and fastest Doorslammers Judd believes this will give the team a good base line to draw from in the up and coming Top Doorslammer rounds starting at Calder Park Raceway on 13 November.

"We thought AA/AP with the softer index was the obvious bracket choice for the local competition, but we did not expect to run a personal best given the blower overdrive restriction and single plug deal" Judd said.

When asked what was the secret to this stunning performance Judd said "We have made a couple of subtle changes from last year, nothing too adventurous though. We may have cured our tyre shake problems, fingers crossed".
