Semi-Final place in Perth keeps Judd in the points

Magneto problems kept the Moonshine Bandit from qualifying early. Having to miss the second round of qualifying it wasn't until the final round that Judd was able to get into the field. A blistering 6.49 @ 214 mph put the team in No.1 spot nearly two tenths clear.

The first elimination was made easy with Judd's opponent having oil problems after the burnout and being shut down. As luck would have it, the bandit coasted over the line for the win when the blower belt broke at half track.

Luck ran out in the semi's when Judd posted a flat 6.73 @ 205 mph to Victor Bray's 6.44 @ 232 mph.

The reigning champ went on to win the final, breaking his own record (set earlier) with a 233 mph top speed.

Judd lamented "Fast speeds don't win races, quick ET's do. Our car is much quicker over the first half of the track and we have to use that to our advantage when racing Victor. Having said that, Victor is only one of a few very tough competitors in the bracket. We hope to do better at Willowbank next month."
